Q: What do the Boy Scouts and the United States Coast Guard have in common?

A: Their mottoes! "Be Prepared" and "Semper Paratus," respectively. I don't have to tell you we're at a time when all social media accounts that don't conform to the "party line" might be shut down at any moment. It's always been true that one giant EMP (electromagnetic pulse, which may come in both natural and man-made form) could wipe out the entire internet. If you're a writer, blogger, or activist, please do yourself a favor and save, in both hard copy and in electronic form, all your important data. You might want to make several copies of stuff that would make good pamphleteering later on. If you know how to run a ham radio or have the opportunity to learn, you might want to think about that now.

I read about the Polish Solidarity movement in the book: "A Force More Powerful." It was very strong in 1980, when suddenly "authorities" destroyed everything and jailed everyone in one fell swoop, much like Chinese "authorities" cracked down on students in Tienanmen Square a decade later. The editor of the book speculated that if only the strikers had been more prepared, they might have kept that movement as strong as ever.

Don't get caught off-guard. Ultimately, as I've said many times, truth seeking people are in a spiritual battle against some very dark, unquenchably greedy forces. Prepare yourself spiritually for a changing world, I think that's the most important thing. But it doesn't hurt to consider physical provisions, as well.
