But there are so man...Thanks for your comment, NTS. But there are so many other things that seem strange to me, just recently, about the world map. Like the location of Sri Lanka, and Sardinia (which I honestly don't remember) and the Baltic looks totally different to me than it has in the past. I always thought the rock of Gibraltar was an island, but it's not. The location of New Zealand & Madagascar seems to have changed. I always thought South America was much more due South of North America than it currently is. I always thought I was good at Geography ... I nearly got my Master's degree in that field!Jody Paulsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06009671330443309875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6649125871844502857.post-46649408848663369432020-01-13T14:41:47.688-08:002020-01-13T14:41:47.688-08:00The older maps, using the Mercator lines, have alw...The older maps, using the Mercator lines, have always been in error.... Only recently has mapping turned towards what has been called the "Atha-Graph" map which gives more accuracy as to size, position, etc using 3D imaging....

The Mercator was so inaccurate for centuries for it made places like the UK, Canada, and even Russia, look so enormous which is very inaccurate....
