Would Jesus Occupy Wall Street?

I was watching CNN this morning and this was one of the questions they asked. I think I can answer this about as well as anyone just by citing the gospels. Mark and Luke both address this same event, but here's Matthew's take:

"And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." -- Matthew 21:12-13

This is how America and all the banks will go broke ...

This is really really important and as you can expect, hardly anyone's talking about it. This is how the FDIC goes bankrupt and everyone with money in the bank loses their account:

To that end, here's a brilliant rant from Video Rebel:
The Day The Zombies Realize America Has Neither A President Nor Any Presidential Candidates

Get ready, people, we're in for a wild ride.

Spent the night at Occupy Fort Wayne

Over the past week the nights have been wet, rainy and miserable, but I really had no excuse to avoid spending the night at Occupy Fort Wayne yesterday because the weather was about as good as one could expect this time of year. Turns out I showed up the first night "authorities" shut off both the electricity and running water. Occupiers took it in with good cheer. They've been hanging out at a pavilion in Headwaters Park near the bus station. It's kind of out of the way as far as visibility goes, and if the "authorities" want to push the protest out into a more visible area, they did the right thing by removing the only logistical advantages the park had to offer.

But anyway, we spent the night, mostly in the dark but in superb weather ... I was really surprised at how resilient the movement here in Fort Wayne is. There was on average a half dozen people awake at any given moment I was there, and who knows how many were sleeping in the tents -- I got there late at night and left at five in the morning. The demographic tended to be younger than the people who showed up at the rally, mostly college-aged kids, but then kids have more energy and better health to do that kind of thing. Still, these weren't a bunch of flakey slackers. I was pretty impressed at their overall knowledge of politics and monetary issues. All over the country police and local officials are under what I can only assume is tremendous pressure to shut things down. I pray they don't buckle under the pressure. These kids are resilient, caring people who are fighting for their children's future. God bless them all.

What is Truly Obscene?

I bet Gerry Rivers, er, "Geraldo" got in trouble for this one. I saw this live on Fox, and no, it didn't get bleeped.
"... what you see here is a large amount of people that have been deeply and profoundly FUCKED by the system ..."
[Quote at around 8 minutes.]

Geraldo seems genuinely miffed at the protester, and he appears to fall all over himself apologizing [around 10:25 into the clip] for the violation of FCC law (punishable by a $325,000 fine) by the utterance of this ubiquitous cuss word. In fact he says he hopes it doesn't mean he won't be able to come down here and cover this any more. So what he's saying is that because of FCC law, the spontaneous voice of the people -- the heart and soul of the first amendment -- will continue to be denied the megaphone of mass media broadcasting. Meanwhile none of the mega news channels have any problem showing footage of the bloodied body of Moammar Qaddafi. Back in the old days people used to stick the head of a deposed leader on a pike and parade it around the city. I used to think that was pretty damn barbaric, but now I'm left wondering ... how is this is any different?

So, speaking the truth using strong but expressive language is an obscenity, but shit like this, well, that's just the natural order of things. Excuse me while I barf.

Occupy Movement: Who is this "General Assembly?"

It looks to me that this is an early attempt to corrupt the fledgling movement with money and cointelpro agents. Here are some disconcerting posts from Portland Indymedia:

physical intimidation and potentially violent behavior at Portland GA

Why Not Do 99% Movement Protests Independently

And let's not forget how the "consensus police" pounced to silence 9-11 truth in San Diego:
Interrupted, booed, and screamed at for speaking the truth at Occupy San Diego

I think this movement has a real chance to create genuine change, but not with these "General Assembly" tactics and leaders!

Occupy the World!

As I'm sure you're well aware, the "Occupy" movement is spreading all over the world. I just got back from the initial rally in Fort Wayne, Indiana where a whopping 300 people showed up! I haven't seen that many people protest here since just before the Iraq War. Here's an article about it (yes, I'm the tubby lady holding the "Don't Feed the Banks" sign). As you can see by the pictures, this wasn't made up of a bunch of hippy college kids. This was a genuine cross section of the population of Fort Wayne. As we marched down one of the main thoroughfares, we were met with a great deal of support from passing cars. The best chant I heard today was, "No left, no right, together we're united!"

I actually know some people who live in Bethel, Alaska!

Mudras for Meditation

Since these come from a "mystery school" I guess they qualify as a topic for "What They Don't Tell You." I like meditation because it helps calm you down and think clearly when the rest of the world seems to be going to Hell in a hand-basket, and that makes it easier to come up with creative solutions instead of reacting blindly to circumstances, which is most definitely what the "Powers that Were" want you to do. Hat tip to artist Charles Gilchrist, who has a great youtube channel dedicated to teaching sacred geometry.

Is al-Awlaki the "Shoe Bomber?"

[Note from Jody: I decided to get rid of this post because even though I think al-Awlaki is fake (along with everything else to do with al Qaeda) and the "shoe bomber" was a set-up at best (and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a total fraud) the evidence linking them to a specific actor is too weak to bear repeating. Sorry about that.]

Musical interlude for 10 years of pointless war

I was listening to a bunch of Celtic songs yesterday, and when I woke up this morning I couldn't get this song out of my head:

One of the best anti-war songs ever.

I re-discovered Dick Gaughan yesterday, his gritty rich voice voice ringing out in righteous anger. Here's to all the Bank and Corporatist protesters out there:

Can you believe it's been 10 years since America has been fighting in Afghanistan, and the troops still aren't home yet? WTF??? God bless the revolution. Something's got to redeem this mess.

NEWSFLASH: #OccupyWallStreet isn't a "Liberal Tea Party"

I got pretty "tea'd off" at a "newscaster" this morning, who tried to portray the Occupy Wall Street movement as the "Dawn of a Liberal Tea Party." I've got news for her -- the people represented by this movement aren't necessarily liberal, and what the mainstream media refers to as the "Tea Party" is an astro-turf (as opposed to truly grass-roots) attempt to co-opt the anger that was already fueling many in the current Occupy Wall Street movement. Many of these people are big fans of Ron Paul and far-right libertarianism. Ron Paul was one of the guys who started the modern "tea party," but the original idea, I think, came from 9-11 truth activists. I participated in among the first of these kinds of "tea parties" by throwing a replica of the flawed 9-11 commission report into San Francisco bay.

The mainstream media wants to paint the #OccupyWallStreet folks as the "Looney Left" (the news lady actually used those words) and associate the movement with Michael Moore and George Soros. This is bigger than that, and the people are smarter than that. Corporatism is Fascism, and you don't have to be a liberal or a communist to see the banks are wrecking the country.

What Do the Wall Street Protesters Want?

The mainstream media makes it sound like the #OccupyWallStreet crowd doesn't have a unified message. I've been following them from the beginning, and I'm telling you they do -- "End (the influence of) Corporate Greed" about covers it, but here are the top 5 demands I found here: http://coupmedia.org/the-sovereign-peoples-movement.html

You can vote on these yourself by following the above link.

These are ordered by the number of votes each proposed measure received at the time I wrote this.

1) ELIMINATE "PERSONHOOD" LEGAL STATUS FOR CORPORATIONS
[Find out about how corporations have been assuming rights that were meant for human beings here: http://reclaimdemocracy.org/personhood/personhood_timeline.pdf]

2) Repeal of the Patriot Act

3) End the War On Drugs

4) CONGRESS ENACT LEGISLATION TO PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY BY REVERSING THE EFFECTS OF THE CITIZENS UNITED SUPREME COURT DECISION
[This was last year's landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court holding that the First Amendment protects corporate and union funding of independent political broadcasts in candidate elections.]

5) Forced Acquisition of the Federal Reserve for $1Billion

Sounds good to me! :)

Open letter to the officers at the NYPD

Do you get it yet?

I have a friend who used to work at the NYPD. His name is Craig Bartmer and he's not on the force anymore, his lungs are shot. He was working at the WTC on Sept. 11, 2001 when the collapse of Building 7 nearly killed him.

Craig was smart enough to figure out the official story fed to us by the mainstream media couldn't be true. He heard the explosions from Building 7 -- it didn't fall into its own footprint due to fire. This is the same mainstream media that pretty much ignored the first responders' health and financial plights. This is the same mainstream media that pretty much ignores the fact that hundreds of protesters were arrested on the Brooklyn bridge this weekend. But you know better, don't you? You were there.

Decide now which side of history you want to be on. With the people you've sworn to serve and protect? Or the big corporations who'd rather replace you with low paid rent-a-cops with no unions, no benefits, and no scruples? Wake up.

Wishing you a better life,

Jody

Insult to Injury

They're just stacking outrage upon outrage on us, aren't they?

One thing I suggest all Americans think about is they just sent an unmanned drone to kill an American citizen overseas. This American never had a day in court. They just called him a terrorist and killed him.

Now, if you were to ask *me* what *really* happened, I'd hazard a guess the "American" was actually a dual citizen American-born Israeli, who was playing the part of American-born Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, kinda like this guy: Adam Yahiye Gadahn (aka Adam Pearlman) and he's not really dead. He was just playing a part, just as Al Qaeda is playing a part keeping us all scared -- like Orwell's Emanuel Goldstein, it was the evil elite's invention to begin with. But this ushers in a precedent -- the kind of precedent that could have got Brandon Mayfield killed when he was falsely accused of being complicit in the Madrid bombings (based on a faulty fingerprint). (BTW, Mayfield went on to challenge the Patriot Act, and won!)

The due-process-free assassination of U.S. citizens is now reality

So now, my fellow American, don't think they can't do the same thing to you. All they have to do is call you a terrorist and *boom*! Watch out for those unmanned drones!

How about some insult to add to that injury? "New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg raised the specter of shutting down a two-week long demonstration on Wall Street, telling protesters who are speaking out against greed and corruption that the banks deserve support.

“The protesters are protesting against people who make $40 or $50,000 a year and are struggling to make ends meet,” he said. “That’s the bottom line. Those are the people that work on Wall Street and in the finance sector.” -- Bloomberg Criticizes Occupy Wall Street Protest, Suggests Their Days May Be Numbered

Another thing that pissed me off this morning is that the Bank of America actually has the nerve to start charging people to use their debit card and get money from their own ATM's. That alone would make me want to pull out all my money from that evil bank. Honestly, there's better places to invest your cash.
