Corexit still being sprayed, people are getting sick

GW on Washington's blog confirms that Corexit, the toxic oil dispersant, is still being sprayed in the Gulf. Corexit is seriously depleting the amount of oxygen in the area, and is known to rupture red blood cells. Now there's a new illness being reported around the Gulf: the "Blue Flu" or the "BP Flu" where people are suffering from symptoms associated with the lack of oxygen -- like blue lips, headaches, etc.

No one's talking about it in the regular news, as far as I'm aware. I find it keenly ironic that yesterday all they could talk about was how New Orleans was recovering from Hurricane Katrina, while failing to address a similar catastrophe in Pakistan going on *right now*, and an environmental health disaster going on because of Corexit spraying *right now* in the Gulf of Mexico!

Help put this ad on the air

Many people don't know a third skyscraper was completely destroyed in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001. This 47-story building (World Trade Center 7) fell at near free-fall speed, though it was never hit by an airplane. Help raise awareness today!

The trouble with knowing where your food comes from

Yesterday I watched a TV news story about the disgusting conditions some egg-laying hens lived in, with footage from an undercover animal rights activist. This set me off on a long mental rant ... I'm a lacto-ovo-vegetarian and that makes it hard enough to plan meals in provincial Indiana. Now it was clear that I'd have to give up non-free-range eggs as well. That means no egg and cheese wake-up wraps at Dunkin Donuts, one of my staples when I go out for the day.

It occurred to me that no regular, decent human being would subject their own hens to that sickening kind of treatment if they raised their own eggs. But they don't -- and unfortunately, due to their general lack of awareness, they are perfectly willing to *buy* eggs others supply them from hens so treated. This gives people without a conscience a distinct advantage -- they save a substantial amount of money by shoving as many hens in a cage as possible and skating by with the least expense towards health and sanitation.

This is why Wal-Mart, factory food tastes like shit compared to food raised on a family farm. I remember eating free-range eggs at a health-conscious friend's house. They taste three times better than regular eggs, but they're expensive as hell. There's no way Dunkin Donuts uses free-range eggs to make their 99-cent wake-up wraps. So, yet again, I'm confronted with a situation where, because of the general unawareness of an otherwise well-meaning public, I'm going to suffer -- in this case, give up eating eggs when I go out. If *everyone* were aware of how animals are treated on factory farms, we'd have a lot more vegetarian restaurants and people would demand free-range eggs, etc. But they aren't. They don't want to know and God knows there are times when I don't blame them.

It occurred to me that we're now at a level of technology where, if only the world were run by average, normal, decent human beings, we would be living in paradise. But we're not. We've relegated the planet to a bunch of psychopaths without a conscience. Because they save a few pennies by doing horrendous things that others won't, they always come out on top. This is true in the food industry, in politics, and in the energy business.

I'll never forget a cartoon I saw outside a professor's office. It showed a CEO at his desk, looking like the cat that swallowed the canary, saying, "You want oil? We own the oil fields. You want coal? We own the coal mines. You want solar power...?" (Next panel) "Uh ... solar power isn't feasible."

So there you go. That's how these rats do it. They thrust themselves between the people and what they need, posing as indispensable middlemen. You want food? You gotta go through us. You want energy? You gotta go through us. You want God? You gotta go through us. They are the ultimate interlopers, running interference between the people and the Source. Their enemy is awareness.

Now what am I going to have for breakfast? :(

More on unsafe seafood

"The US government, and even President Obama himself, have said that Gulf seafood is safe to eat in the wake of the massive BP oil spill.

"But an admission from the federal government that it hasn't been testing Gulf seafood for toxic heavy metals, and news that fishermen are being forced to sign waivers making them liable for toxins in their catch, suggest not everyone is convinced of the safety of Gulf seafood."

Don't eat the shrimp

Washington's blog has really been on the British Petroleum case:

Gulf Shrimpers Find Oil In Reopened Fishing Areas. Governnment Says "Shut Up". Sierra Club Alleges Areas Were Solely Reopened to Limit BP's Liability

The Government Lies to the American People About the Safety of Gulf Seafood

None of this comes to any surprise to me. When the shrimpers themselves are saying, "look, you don't actually expect us to sell this stuff for human consumption, do you???" you know there's something terribly wrong with the shrimp, and if BP could get NOAA and the Coast Guard to cover their ass, they can get the FDA to do the same thing.

Iran says to drop trade in 'filthy' dollar, euro

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iJ0elHd-dKl2XcrDwbx2KZPTMBtQ

This is big news that affected the market today and inches us ever closer to confrontation. Note that Saddam Hussein dropped the dollar for the Euro just before the US invasion. (Listen to my 2004 commentary on Dollar Hegemony).

Books of long ago and far away ...

A friend of mine from the reincarnation forum has a new book out: Descendant of Kings by Charles Boden. It's a well-written account of the romantically tragic events of the Scottish Jacobite Uprising of 1745 (plus a modern Brazilian witch doctor and the philosophy of reincarnation!) Now, for personal reasons a book like this is right up my alley and I found it absolutely fascinating; since you're reading my blog maybe you will too.

Other great books along these lines:

Someone Else's Yesterday: The Confederate General and Connecticut Yankee: A past Life Revealed

Soul Survivor: The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot

Learn about the dollar

I really enjoyed the 1988 John Carpenter film "They Live" (starring my favorite pro-wrestler, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper). The most memorable moment, to me, was when he first put on magic sunglasses that supposedly allow him to see the world "as it really is." He saw all the billboards and advertisements transform into commands like "CONSUME," "MARRY AND REPRODUCE," and "OBEY." But the thing that really struck a chord in me was when he looked down at his money and it said, "THIS IS YOUR GOD."

I knew intuitively that, in fact, there are symbols on the dollar bill designed to do just that -- to trick human beings into transferring their incalculable spiritual power into something material that can be manipulated and controlled. I recently found a movie at Vigilant Citizen explaining just how this was done:

Eye of the Phoenix: Secrets of the Dollar Bill

Highly recommended for those of you who love esoteric mysteries like "the Da Vinci code" and "National Treasure," etc...

Israeli airstrike injures 42 in Gaza

http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=304370

Just thought I'd mention this, because, after all, the name of my blog is "What They Don't Tell You."

I noticed this story was well-featured on Spanish-speaking TV, and (not knowing Spanish very well) rushed over to CNN, only to find the top story was about "the new Bin Laden" (some American-born cleric, I can't find anything about it on their website now) and there wasn't a single mention of the attack on Gaza. Just another reminder that yes, news blackouts still exist, even in the age of Obama.
