Just the Facts, Ma'am ...

I love articles that simply lay out a bunch of facts (in an artful and readable way) and allow people to come to their own conclusions. I just came across a webpage in that vein and it occurs to me that I should list some of my favorite "laying out the facts" - type articles in one handy post. So here they are:

What Every American Should Know About Iraq
http://www.regressiveantidote.net/Articles/What_Every_American_Should_Know_About_Iraq.html
On 9/11 a THIRD Skyscraper Plunged to Earth:
The Sudden Implosion of WTC Building 7
http://wtc7.net/articles/kimball/thirdskyscraper.html

20 Amazing Facts About Voting in the USA
http://www.nightweed.com/usavotefacts.html

When I first started to become interested in 9-11 truth, this was a important article for me to reference. I understand there are many other versions of the 9-11 timeline that have since been updated many times, but I haven't had a chance to read them thoroughly.
Oh Lucy! - You Gotta Lotta 'Splainin To Do
http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/02_11_02_lucy.html

Jennifer Van Bergen's truthout series, "Repeal the USA Patriot Act" isn't short but it's a comprehensive treatment of the issue loaded with facts and references.

A few years ago, I did a radio commentary called
Mysterious Deaths of Microbiologists
http://www.radio4all.net/index.php?op=script&program_id=11142&version_id=13269&nav=&session=
Here's an article I found today that has more recent reports of scientists dead from questionable circumstances:
List of Dead Scientists
http://www.stevequayle.com/dead_scientists/UpdatedDeadScientists.html

Here's my commentary listing neo-con quotes about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (you know, the reason why we're killing and maiming people and getting killed and maimed ourselves over there): http://www.radio4all.net/index.php?op=script&program_id=10932&version_id=13012&nav=&session=

Dan Benham does a great job lifting the wool out of our eyes about the Federal Reserve in
A Phone Call To The Fed
http://www.rense.com/general29/ringring.htm

That's all I can think of for right now. But I'd love to get more links to articles like this -- the kind that compile and list provocative information. If you know of any more, please post them!

Appearently, poor people don't count in this country

Here's a telling descrepancy of how Los Angeles County treats its inmates:

"Pamela Richardson, a 51-year-old black veteran whose legs were both amputated, claims she was treated far worse than [Paris] Hilton because of her race and disability. [...]

"In jail, deputies removed Richardson's prosthetic leg and provided her with a wheelchair. The wheelchair did not fit inside the jail shower, and Richardson was unable to bathe herself for eight days.

"'I've had to crawl at night to the toilet, had to be told to crawl to the shower, which was very humiliating for me. I felt I had my dignity taken away from me,' Richardson said."
http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2007/06/12//news/state/111107141101.txt

I've lived in homeless shelters and an "SRO" (city-funded hotel room) where I've had to share a bathroom for months. Trust me, having to crawl to use the shower in one of these places is like expecting someone to bathe in a urinal. I can just imagine how nasty prison bathrooms are.

Now consider this story:

Woman Ignored By 911 Dies In Hospital
http://kutv.com/topstories/topstories_story_164153604.html

"A woman who lay bleeding on the emergency room floor of a troubled inner-city hospital died after 911 dispatchers refused to contact paramedics or an ambulance to take her to another facility, newly released tapes of the emergency calls reveal."

And this one:

Police probe alleged L.A. homeless dumping
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17062674/

" A hospital van dropped off a paraplegic man on Skid Row, allegedly leaving him crawling in the street with nothing more than a soiled gown and a broken colostomy bag, police said."

How can the people in charge call themselves Christians when they preside over this kind of state and corporate-sanctioned disregard for human beings? Haven't they ever read Matthew 25 [ http://bibleresources.bible.com/passagesearchresults.php?passage1=Matthew+25%3A31-43&version1=31 ] and the parable about the good Samaritan?

And come on, Mr. Bush. The reason you're so opposed to publicly funded stem-cell research is because "When research is funded entirely by the private sector, the government has no license, and it is strictly a private matter whether, and under what terms, new intellectual property is made available to others for commercial or research purposes." [ http://www.hhs.gov/asl/testify/t990112a.html ] This is about private research companies making a mint off the patents they'll get for privatized stem-cell research, not about saving the lives of blastocysts. But I digress.

As Joel S. Hirschhorn says in his article Are Americans Unready to Boil?:

"America is no longer close to what it should be – or once was. It no longer fairly serves and protects all Americans. Too many Americans are working poor, hungry, homeless, poorly educated, imprisoned, debt-ridden, crime victims, facing economic insecurity, nonvoters, and lacking health care."

This is not the America I know and love. We saw the best of America and its citizens on 9-11-01. We saw firefighters risk their lives to help a crippled lady get down the stairs. Later on, we saw hundreds more put their health at serious risk trying to find survivors. We saw millions of concerned citizens send in money to help the victims.

Just a few years ago I was in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and the river threatened to flood several homes in town. I heard an announcement on the radio calling for volunteers to help fill sandbags. I was unemployed so I had plenty of time to help. When I arrived at the huge municipal station I was astonished to see the place was filled! Many people took off work, workplaces sent teams of employees ... high school sports teams were represented too. It was such an inspiring scene. People were smiling and working hard, the radio people were down there playing tunes, local businesses donated some great food. The mayor came down to help fill sandbags and personally thank us all for helping. There were literally hundreds of people, all working together to help save the low-lying areas of town. I spoke to many of them, and most did not have a house in the flood's path. They were there to help out their neighbors.

This is the America I know we can be. But it seems we have to step out of our carefully designed corporate cages to get there.

Article: "German police thwart an attempted US attack against the G8"

Possible attempt to get involved in an Iranian war?

I originally saw this article on whatreallyhappened.com. It linked to an article in French, I translated it using google and my own rusty knowledge of that language. As far as its authenticity, "germerican" from Portland Indymedia posted:

here are two links that confirm the incident:

http://www.eux.tv/article.aspx?articleId=9424

"Sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that US security men tested German security by trying to smuggle C4 plastic explosive past a checkpoint at Heiligendamm. German surveillance machinery detected the tiny stash in a suitcase in a car and the Americans in plainclothes then identified themselves. German police declined comment."

http://www.finanzen.net/news/news_detail.asp?NewsNr=535798

"US-Sicherheitskräfte haben die Gipfel-Kontrollen nach dpa-Informationen mit dem Transport einer geringen Menge Sprengstoff getestet. Der in einem Koffer versteckte Plastiksprengstoff vom Typ C4 sei von deutschen Beamten an einer Kontrollstelle in einem Auto entdeckt worden. Die G8-Polizeieinheit Kavala wollte den Vorfall vom Dienstag nicht bestätigen."

The german one states the US 'security forces' TESTED the Summit secuity by transporting a small amount of explosives. The plastic explosives of the type C4 which were hidden in a suitcase, were detected by German Officers at a checkpoint in a car. Interestingly enough, the special G8 police unite 'Kavala' denied to confirm the report.

German police thwart an attempted US attack against G8
http://www.voltairenet.org/article149043.html

Deutsche Press-Agentur and Agenzia Giornalistica Italia reported Thursday June 7, 2007 that German police had surprised "US security service men (Secret Service?) trying to smuggle C4 military explosives through a control point in Heiligendamm" where the G8 summit was taking place. After the bag containing the explosives was detected by the testing devices, specify the agencies, the American agents, dressed in civilian clothes, were immediately identified. German police refused to comment on this event (see dispatches below).

With the exception of an Iraqi episode in which British special forces were uncovered sowing terror disguised as Arabs [I did a radio commentary on this -- see below -- Jody], it is the first time that Western news services have reported the failure of a "False flag operation" in Europe.

On July 7, 2005, at the beginning of the G8 summit, an attack killed 56 and wounded more than 700. The summit's agenda was modified, the principal topics being abandoned to address the fight against global terrorism. As we explained then, the terrorists introduced their explosives under the cover of an anti-terrorist exercise in an identical fashion (to read our articles "Attacks of London: the same scenario was going on simultaneously in the form of an exercise!" and "London joins again with the strategy of the tension", by Thierry Meyssan, Réseau Voltaire, July 13, 2005.).

[Jody again. Here's my radio commentary from 2005:] http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2007/02/354070.shtml

INCIDENT AT BASRA

On Sept. 19, 2005, two British soldiers in wigs and dressed as members of the Shi'ite Mahdi Army, fired on Iraqi Police, killing one and injuring another. After a car chase they were arrested and taken into custody.

According to Sheik Hassan al-Zarqani, a spokesman for the Mahdi Army, "What our police found in their car was very disturbing -- weapons, explosives and a remote control detonator."

But the Brits from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment didn't stay in custody for long. Sources in the Iraqi Interior Ministry said that six Allied tanks were used to smash a wall in police headquarters to rescue the pair. This touched off a riot, causing Iraqis to lob Molotov cocktails at the armored vehicles.

You could have heard all about this incident if you scoured the papers -- albeit with a heavy pro-British spin. So why do I mention it on a commentary called "What they don't tell you?" Well, first off, most Americans haven't heard about it, or if they did the story was overpowered by dissembling and dramatic photos of a flaming soldier jumping from a tank.

Rest assured, however, the Iraqis haven't forgotten this story. Many have suspected foreign occupiers of perpetrating "insurgent" bombings all along.

More recently, a somewhat dubious Russian news site ( http://iraqwar.mirror-world.ru/article/66432 ) reports that a number of Iraqis caught two Americans in Arab dress trying to detonate a car bomb. The Americans were then said to have been whisked away by "Iraqi puppet police." Given what happened in Basra, does anyone out there still believe that this whole adventure is to give Iraqis their freedom?

Some freedom. Freedom to install Western-approved government puppets, but not the sovereignty of incarcerating two men who fire on your elected government's own police force while packing hi-tech explosives in their car.

Oh, and here's an article I wrote that talks about what I think of the official story on the London bombings: http://jpaulson.blogspot.com/2007/03/meet-london-bombers.html

Terminator Seeds

I just saw this post on Portland Indymedia: http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2007/06/360814.shtml

As I wrote in the comments, I can't think of anything more evil than the idea of developing seeds that grow into sterile plants so poor people can't save seed. And what happens if this "technology" somehow contaminates the rest of our food supply? What will it do to the food chain in general?

Please get the word out there. I mean, this kind of thing is right out of Lex Luthor's "World Takeover" playbook!

Ick.

These days, it's best to be especially vigilent about what you consume.

Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence that the most lucid people I know are either vegan or vegetarian. If you need one, here's another reason to drop meat:

Food safety fears over plans to feed pigs to chickens

Didn't we learn our lesson from mad cow disease (caused by cows eating other cows)? I guess not. Meanwhile, pigs given melamine-tainted feed have been cleared for the U.S. market:
http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2007/05/16/melamine-probe.html

Wait a minute! Wasn't melamine, an industrial chemical used to make plastics and fertilizers, the stuff in pet food linked with China that poisoned a bunch of American cats and dogs? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/30/business/worldbusiness/30food.html?ex=1182484800&en=ea849a09ab97d42d&ei=5070

And by the way, what's with the Chinese selling us poisoned toothpaste?

Kind of reminds me of the time they sold children's cross necklaces made of lead, causing several cases of lead poisoning here in the United States. Sometimes you wonder if they're doing it on purpose, don't you? Kind of makes you think twice about the Pentagon buying computer chips from them, doesn't it?

News I wish more people knew

Due to the upcoming G8 meeting, Germany has been experiencing the worst rioting they've seen in years. Anybody hear about this?
http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2007/06/360382.shtml

Many people know that Cindy Sheehan has officially resigned as "the face of the anti-war movement," but how many know that she also came out in favor of the 9-11 truth movement by making the statement that the "Twin Towers' Collapse Looked Like Controlled Demolition"?

No, but we know all about Paris Hilton going to jail. Believe it or not, I don't even know what Paris Hilton looks like and I don't particularly want to know (I don't have a television). She doesn't sound like anyone I'd want to be friends with. Yet I know all about the fact that she's going to jail and will be going to a special program to protect her from other inmates and her jailers have been warned not to take pictures of her.

I also know a bunch of losers with a plan that wouldn't have worked sat around and chatted on the Internet about bombing JFK airport.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of our troops don't realize that Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9-11-01. And many of them are dying for it.

What's wrong with this picture?

TB and forced quarantines

I've stopped believing in coincidences. I'm starting to figure that billion-to-one coincidences are either divinely inspired, or there is a very definite reason behind them. There's just been way too many of them these days.

I know a little something about TB. It's something, generally, poor homeless people get. It's not something, typically, globe-trotting lawyers get. Yet here's this lawyer guy (rich enough to get married in Europe and honeymoon in Italy, the Greek isles and other spots in Europe) who has a "super-rare" untreatable case of TB, and we're told it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that his new father-in-law, Robert C. Cooksey, is a CDC microbiologist whose specialty is TB.

Hmmm. So now they're starting to mandate TB quarantines for the first time since 1963. http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/news/2007/06/quarantine_law Does anybody else smell something rotten about this?
